Your questions answered

For normal bookings, as long as we receive at least 72 hours notice, we will refund your booking in full (minus a small £1.50 charge) that our credit card provider charge us. Inside 72 hours notice unfortunately we cannot refund your booking. For parties and corporate events, we require 7 days notice in writing (usually email).
What makes The Realm VR stand out from other VR companies?
In a word…EVERYTHING! We offer cheaper prices than anywhere else, we use state-of-the-art equipment, we allow everyone to have their experience their way and we have the 5-star reviews to prove it!
We promise you’ll love the time you spend in The Realm VR Gaming!
When are parties available for booking?
We are exclusively open for parties and group bookings only from Monday to Thursday but can also accommodate on Friday-Sundays by prior arrangement.
How long do parties last?
Our parties last from 1 hour and 45 minutes without food or 2 hours if you add in the food option too.
What sort of party size would you recommend for an optimal experience?
Although our party deal is set up for as many as 18 kids, if there are less than these numbers, it means more VR time for everyone and allows more games in the party time which proves to be a big hit.
For a group of less than 8 you should expect around 8 to 12 game changes and up to 1 hour and 30 minutes of VR play each.
For groups of around 8 the 4 x VR standing portals are absolutely fine. With this party deal you should expect around 4 to 8 game changes and up to 45 minutes of VR play each.
For groups of up to 12 the 4 x VR standing portals (only) can still be used and you should expect around 4 to 6 game changes and up to 30 minutes of VR play each. Our recommendation for this number would be to add in the VR seated portals (+£100) to give more VR time per person and includes roller coaster experiences which use hydraulics and wind simulation to take things to another level.
For parties of up to 18 you’ll have the 4 x VR standing portals and the 3 x VR seated portals must be used. With this party deal you should expect around 7 to 14 game changes and up to 45 minutes of VR play each.
Can we purchase additional time?
Absolutely – our standard parties last for 1 hour and 45 minutes but you can add extra hours for £90 per additional hour for the standing portals and £50 per additional hour for the seated portals.
What’s included in the food options?
If you choose to add in the food option to your party, for a cost of £6.50 per person you will get:
- Choose from hot dogs, cheese pizza or chicken nuggets (n.b. we require a minimum of 8 hot dogs and 4 pizzas if you want to mix and match them)
- A bowl of crisps
- A muffin or cake slice
- Ice-cold orange or summer fruits squash
Do you cater to corporate events and birthday parties?
We do our best to provide the best experience for party-goers during their time here, so we tailor each party (from big things such as the games we host to the little things such as the music played).
Do you have multiplayer games or online games?
We can link up our portals and 5D racers to play the same games / races so you can play with your friends and family.
Just check out our Games Library to see what we offer.
What is the difference between a VR Portal and the 5D Racing Sim?
The VR portals are areas which are designed for you to use our Virtual Reality equipment. They come with padded floors, walls to make sure you aren’t bumping into anyone else and plenty of space so you can move around in the Virtual Realm!
Our 5D Racing Simulators are next level! Whilst using the same VR equipment as our portals, they also boast haptic seats and steering wheels which react to your moves whilst you race! They also use state-of-the-art wind tunnels so you can feel the wind rush past you as you zoom down the track!
I’m not a gamer – is VR for me?
Although the gaming experiences from VR is something no gamer will have ever experienced before, the many experiences VR offers are just as incredible. Whether you wanted to dive deep underwater in picture perfect realism, or fight robots in space to be the best space pirate there is, there is something for everyone at every age.
What VR games would you recommend to a beginner?
We have a great selection of games and experiences to choose from in our Games Library. However to make it even easier, we have an easy to use refine search facility to narrow down the exact game/experience you are looking for. In addition, we even have real user ratings from other players showing you the most popular games/experiences.
How many friends can I bring with me? And how many can play at the same time?
We can have up to 3 players per portal, however, each portal can only support 1 player at a time. This means one person would come out of VR, so another can go in.
You are also welcome to bring friends and family to watch, if they don’t feel ready to enter Virtual Reality.
How do I avoid walking into walls with a VR headset on?
Our Virtual Reality software is the latest on the market, we made sure that it’s set up so you know when you get close to the walls in Reality.
Can I book more than 1 session at a time?
Absolutely. You can book as many as you wish as long as we have the space for you. Check with The Realm VR to see what deals we have on for additional sessions.
Can I wear glasses when using a VR headset?
Although we do recommend wearing contacts if possible to give you a slightly better experience, the VR headset is designed to adapt to small to medium sized glasses. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this then our staff are more than happy to help.
Do you have any clothing restrictions?
We recommend casual wear as some on the games/experiences are pretty intense and you might find yourself in greater discomfort in thicker clothes.
What are the age, height and weight limits?
For our VR Portals, the minimum age is 8 years old. The minimum height is 4 foot. The maximum amount of players per Portal is 4.
For our racers, anyone aged 12 (or older) and over 5ft 3in foot can enjoy the thrill of the track! (for players weighing up to 102kg or 225lb, for up to 2 players per Racer).
What about the mums and dads?
We don’t want to waste any time from your VR party, therefore while the kids are eating, we would like to offer Mums and Dads the 15 mins to enjoy some VR. After all, you are the one paying for the party, so it would be great to see for yourselves what makes VR so much fun!
